In our Assessing Department at BS&A, we consider both our training and support staff to be “SMEs”, or Subject Matter Experts.  Because all of the members of our Assessing team actively work, or have worked for a municipality, we understand the problems faced by our customers.  Since our Training and Support teams are able to put themselves in the seat of the customer, solving problems becomes easier and the ability to connect to our customers becomes stronger.

When hiring Assessment Administration staff, we look for a combination of specific skills and unique qualities. We strongly believe that one key factor that differentiates BS&A from other companies, is that we hire and retain staff that understands Assessment Administration and customer service. We find that this brings great value to both our customers and our company alike.

Our training and support staff is also comprised of certified Assessors. We currently have 11 members of our staff certified as Michigan Assessors, ranging from MMAO to MCAO designations. All are members of the Michigan Assessors Association and actively work within the Assessing Community as well. Sitting on the Boards of the Michigan Assessors Association and various committee appointments of the State Tax Commission, we feel entrenched with the customers we serve.  

Although BS&A is not in the Contract Assessing business, we believe having our staff working alongside our users is an important step in the overall process.  By working on-site, we are afforded the opportunity to use the software in the “real world” – this is the ultimate test of understanding the software we sell, and understanding the process we support.
