In the spring of 2011, BS&A began the company’s first internship program. We started the program in hopes of acquiring qualified college students to come in, learn about the company, and take on the same training and responsibilities as our full-time Support Technicians. The program quickly took off, and we had some very qualified students working with us and splitting their time between school and working in the Support Department. W...

I believe that support is making the customer feel comfortable calling for help, no matter how “stupid” they feel the issue is. We are here for them regardless of the complexity of their issue. Support is teaching the customer how to perform a task and encouraging them to learn it. Support is the customer’s biggest cheerleader. I think it is important that we get excited for the customer, especially when they are excited that they have learned so...

Would it be safe for me to say that, what you expect from customer service, I am prepared to give? Yes! When I think of what the customer might be going through at the time, I can give them better support, have more compassion, really try to listen a little more closely, and be more patient. I am able to think of what a customer might be going through by thinking about what I or someone I care about is going through, and what I would want for the...

S.I.D., or Support Information Display, was developed as a way for Support Managers to further communicate with their staff on a consistent basis. S.I.D. was the brainchild of the entire support department during monthly departmental meetings, and is successfully being used to convey all of the important information the Support Department needs to know throughout the day. Falls Township purchased the Building Permit version of BS&A. Compared with the program we had before, this one is so much more user-friendly, from the permits to the reports you can do. When we first received this program a man came in and gave us some training, but it was easy enough to learn on our own. Anything I had trouble with, Bob and Lori were right there to help fix the problem and didn’t hang up until the problem was fixed. The tech support is fabulous.
