This class is designed for anyone wishing to grasp the basic concepts of fund accounting and how those concepts are applied within the BS&A General Ledger application.  Those attending will receive a hands-on, classroom style learning experience as we discuss various introductory fund accounting topics and apply examples of those topics into the General Ledger application.

• The basic accounting equation
• Components of the State of Michigan Uniform Chart of Accounts
• GL number setup for projects and grants
• Common accounting processes including:
  • Inter-fund activity
  • Basic banking setup
